A cologne-like, built with a tea structure.
Chaco is the second largest primary forest of Latin America, called the "impenetrable forest" for its incredibly dense formation.
This forest is the only source for gaiac wood, known locally as 'Palo Santo'. This region is also known by perfumers to be the source of petitgrain essential oil, of natural extracts of maté leaves. and for being an important origin of citrus cultivation.
All these ingredients have been combined in a cologne-type, built with a distinctive tea note. Petitgrain and maté are playing the central role, responding to each other, complemented by premium citrus extracts that bring freshness and lasting. Gaiacwood comes in as a base note within a bouquet of woods.

Since it was introduced by a French botanist in the 19th century, petitgrain has been perpetrated as a traditional farming activity in Eastern Paraguay. Small bigarade trees occupy parts of farms lands, in combination with other crops.
Essential oil of petitgrain brings green and floral profiles reminiscent of orange blossom. The fragrance CHACO contains rectified essential oil of petitgrain in combination with other citrus notes (bergamot, orange and lemon).
Branches and leaves are pruned and distilled in wooden stills, directly in the fields, to make an essential oil. This activity offers financial security for smallholders living in this region.
Cultivation of yerba maté, when combined with local trees in an agroforestry model, brings benefits such as soil regeneration, carbon storage, and farm diversification.
Ilex paraguariensis is a plant native to Eastern Paraguay. CHACO contains maté absolute combined with other ingredients to make a tea accord in this warm cologne.
Maté leaves are generally consumed in infusions. Sharing a tereré is still today a very popular tradition in the whole region, a legacy inherited from the Guaraní indigenous community.
El Chaco is is the only habitat for the Gaiacwood. Bulnesia sarmientoi naturally grows following the salt veins of the clay soil in the Chaco Forest.
Palo santo essential oils are known for their woody, salty and smokey notes. CHACO contains Gaiac essence to give a woody base note.
Sustainability of Gaiac harvesting is now guaranteed with comprehensive forest management plans. Once harvested, trees regenerate naturally through their root system.
In Paraguay, we partner with the Mbaracayu educational center (Fundacion Moises Bertoni).
The Mbaracayu educational center is located in a biosphere reserve, surrounded by communities farming petitgrain and yerba maté. This school teaches environmental sciences and agroecology to young indigenous women from the region.
Our project is aiming at evolving the cultivation of petitgrain and maté in a sustainable model, with integrated and regenerative farming practices, associating cash and food crops, and agroforestry. Advanced practices will be formalized in a model farm and promoted with 10 champion farmers funded by Nissaba. We will then link the young students of the school through a specific curriculum.
